GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance (FSA) Certification

The GMP+ FSA certification helps organizations provide a guarantee and reassurance to consumers for the responsible way in which animal feed products are produced, processed, traded, stored and transported, thereby maintaining feed safety.

What is GMP+ FSA?

The Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP+) Feed Safety Assurance (FSA) system is a certification scheme designed to ensure product safety across the feed supply chain. The GMP+ standards are based on EU legislation, and includes additional requirements from key industry players.

A GMP+ B2 certificate is provided to manufacturers of feed materials, feed additives, and feed by-products for the food industry. The major products that can be certified under GMP+ B2 certification includes soya meal, rapeseed meal, guar gum, fish meal, cane sugar molasses, oleochemicals, soya and starch derivatives, processing aids such as calcium carbonate, sodium and calcium butyrate. Once certified, the clients name will appear on the GMP+ portal under the list of certified companies.

A GMP+ B3 certificate is provided to traders and storage sites of feed materials and feed additives.

How to get GMP+ FSA certified

Cotecna can offer clients GMP+ FSA certification. The certificate is granted after conformity assessment and verification is done via an initial audit at the participant's site address. Validity of the certificate is for three years with surveillance audits scheduled annually.
